The Lionel retail store

I am going to Charlotte in DEC to look at an Elio.....will hit the Lionel store and Lego store while I am in the area.......FUN TRIP!

You just confirmed the very thing I had guessed at after seeing pics of that store on the Lionel Facebook page. I knew right away it wasn't going to be Madison Hardware or anything. Looked very "corporate". There's nothing there for me, not my style of a place to shop. Thanks for the info, makes me smile & chuckle to myself (while my wife sits across from me shaking her head).

Well, being a Lionel Store, wonder if they will do Repair Work on Lionel Trains? That would be interesting. Also, did they have a good Inventory of Trains, Cars, sets, Track, Etc.?

Maybe a warranty repair, but not something older. They wouldn't stock any parts. This place looked (from the pictures) like a mall type toy store. Everything is probably marked for their MSRP right out of the catalog. Stock is probably limited to current year items. Just guessing, but when I see their posts on FB, I laugh.

But...it is good for Lionel that they are making enough money for such a venture.

If it gets popular, maybe model railroading will get more popular.

To be blunt, I would rather see more Lionel Train Stores than those silly Nail Salon places that every shopping center has.

Hey Lionel, we have tons of vacant shopping centers here In Williamsburg VA because it is saturated with the same old same old, i.e. a nail shop, a UPS Store, a Hallmark Card Shop, and maybe...maybe... a grocer, the rest of the stores are vacant, useless, and just taking up space.

They should either knock them down or not build them in the first place.

How about a Nassau Hobby and/or Trainworld SUPER CENTER!?!?
