Darstaed have released the new Pannier in 10 different liveries. Although strictly speaking, this loco is a diecast creation, it will be pulling tinplate rolling stock. And, I must say, without reservation, this is a superb locomotive in every respect. Detail is fantastic, it is heavy, the all wheel drive gearing is beautifully engineered, it runs quietly, and smoothly, it's low speed performance is outstanding. This loco by Darstaed is a triumph.

How do you find these things? What is the cost in GBP = USD?
Here is some more information

looks like 325 Pound Sterling for this item.
They should be available in the US now, from US distributor John Hoover, at www.trainshoover.com
John will be able to quote your local US dollar price. The version John will be selling, is AC/DC switchable. So, those not already into DC British style in the States will enjoy running Darstaed on their usual AC Lionel/ MTH friendly layouts.
The colored Jinties, will be shipping very soon, if John doesn't have them yet, within the next couple of weeks I would think.
This is a beautiful engine Dave! Stop tempting me!!
Well you started it, making me buy US tinplate! I'm even buying old stuff now!!
Got a nice old set of Marx coaches last week.
OK Dave fair enough; Please post some pics of your new toy's when you get a chance.
Beautiful Engine, sir!

Like nearly everything I've got, not organized. One day Chris. I'm actually planning on a new shop next year, and it will have some layouts. I want to make it an old fashioned toy train shop, that looks like every day is Christmas. Then, I'll look forward to going there every day too!
Dave,
Keep us posted in the minimum radius (diameter) that the Pannier will handle. In my case, that will be a determining factor.
The Site says 2 foot which works out to 048 Mr Miller. With the three drivers flanged, I am going to go with 054 as a opinion on a minimum based on my construction.

I was busy with some very nice customers all day yesterday, so I'll do some testing today.
Dear All,
Really impressed with this locomotive - if you are into British tinplate then grab one of these....
You will not be disappointed !
It's running on Lionel O gauge 054 curves with no problem
