Seen today on the modular layout at the Virginia Train Collectors show (which was a big success!).......the guys can get very creative!
As you can see, the River City 3 Railers are having TOO MUCH FUN!

That is definitely a different kind of lashup I assume both J’s powered - that’s got to be tricky.
Holy Greenport Scoot, Batman!

Lol! If any steamer could give an Acela a run for its money....certainly a J could. Two?.....without a doubt!
Just when I think I've seen everything.
I love it!
However, if I recall, most mainline steam engines were incapable of running at high speeds in reverse - something to do with the way the bearings were lubricated. Somebody feel free to correct me on this.
Nonetheless, I'll take a "J" over an "Acela" any day!

Paul.....I will have to ask how they did it.....I was talking with groups of visitors as we moved around the layout.....and it just flew by.....and I couldn't believe my eyes.... and broke out laughing!

Oh great I can see the Lionel product meeting this morning...
I'm telling you Howard they'll go for it. A 611 J on both ends of a passenger consist. They already have over 300 views on OGR and we can make an "official"
Hey, Lionel could do the same thing with any of their bullet-nosed engines (PRR, Blue Goose, etc.) with matching streamlined cars. Just think about that and the related possibilities of Quality Control screw-ups?

That is too funny! You guys have WAAYYYYY too much free time on your hands.
Did someone say Greenport Scoot?
Well, think of all the money you save on turntables!
