The Train will be out in BluRay on June 10. That's the good news. The Bad news is there will only be 3000 copies made. If you want the BluRay you must order through Screen Archives Entertainment. They are the only ones releasing the film. It's not yet ready for pre-order but soon. I can't wait. Don

That's an engrossing WWII film - quite well done IMHO.
Blue Ray is way to expensive, I still purchase the regular DVD's.......instead I am saving my money for a trip to Kaui, Hawaii and around 50 Mai Tai's.

Don does this company do blu ray conversions exclusive ?
As much as I love that movie, and it is one of the all time great train movies, I'm not sure I see the advantage of Blu-ray.
For me, Blu-ray is all about color. I resisted seeing Avatar in the theater, but my wife bought the Blu-ray. I was blown away!!!
Sorry Don, but I just don't see the value of better grays. A nice DVD of The Train would make me very happy though.
Don, thank you very much for the 'heads up' on this movie. I am going to place my order
next.
Happy Railroading
The Train
Chosen as the No. ! of 100 films about trains is still one awesome film. Bert Lancaster is perfect for the role
I also HIGHLY recommend a Russian movie called "The Edge" train action start to first.
A first rate and very well done Russian film YOU will like it
Elliot, I see your point and wondered why they would release B&W films in BluRay. Then I saw the General. It was like seeing it for the first time. As you know it's not just about grays, it's so much sharper and almost always they strike a new and better print.
One of our favorite films is Woody Allen's "Radio Days". When we first got the DVD we were watching movies on a 35" tube set. I loved it. It's a movie we watched every few months. That was three TVs back. We have a 65 inch plasma now and the film is unwatchable. It is so compressed, things in the sky stop moving sometimes.
Finally in July they are releasing it in Bluray and we will be able to watch it again. Don
hello guys and gals...........
I wished they had one on DVD as we want one too

Tiffany, Amazon has regular DVD's of the Train. They have been out of print for some time so they are getting pricy. They have used ones cheap. As I recall the original prints were not all that great with the fist DVDs. Don
Alright Don, you talked me into it. I signed up for the pre order. Now I'll be able to erase it from my DVR.
