Just found a pen with this lettering....when I first started attending York, and had exhausted my interest in the open shows, I would visit a couple of train

shops on the west side of the Susquehanna going north from Harrisburg.  Those shops are gone, but I just found this pen that I probably picked up at

York..don't remember this shop..so..does it still exist and what about it, and

what other shops are NOW in the area?...there is a hobby shop in a little

town north out of Lancaster...Strasburg, of course, is well known..

Hi Coloradohiraile,

Yes.  They are still in the area, but moved to a differnt location.  They are in an old train station outside of Hershey Pa in Palmyra.  Here is their web site. http://www.palmyratrainshop.com/  A few years back the road was worked on by the old shop and I guess they decided to move.  They have a nice new place. I know of two other shops in the area.  A favorite of mine is The Station in New Cumberland, PA.  Dick and Dorris are super nice people.  They have an old train station as well that was moved to their location. A great place to hang out, shop and talk trains. Here is some info to help you find them: http://www.merchantcircle.com/...Station.717-774-7096

The last one I know is Maxwells Trains and Auto.  He is between Hershey and Harrisburg.  Here is some info to help you find him as well.http://businessfinder.pennlive...d-Auto-Harrisburg-PA

They are all nice people to work with.  I did a lot of my pre orders with The Station in New Cumberland over the years.  Enjoy your time out there.

Tha Station in New Cumberland is a fine shop. When I was kid growing up in the 50's, in Jacksonville Florida, I ordered two boxes of stained ties from the Staton, to slip under my Lionel track. In 1995 the USAF assigned me to Ft Detrick (Frederick MD) and I bought a home in Gettysburg PA (good schools for my daughters). When I was working on my layout a few years ago I got out the old ties and noticed the address for the Station, which is not far from where I work now. I called them and to my surprise, they were still open. I have been there a number of times and have found it well equipped and friendly.

Many thanks for posting.  I'm in Hershey frequently, yet didn't know about Palmyra Train Shop.  Since they're off 422 I just wouldn't be likely to stumble across the shop.
