Going through some images and I came across this picture taken during K-Line Fall Fair Days - remember those?

They were going to come out with this cool line of aliens....but alas.

Anything you have seen at a vendors booth that you wanted and didn't make it to market?

No.  I've never been to Toy Fair, Fall fair or any other toy mfr fair.  I rarely look at a mfr booth at York.

For that matter I haven't looked at a current catalog since the 1990 time frame.

It's pretty simple for me.  If it doesn't show up at the vendor tables at York, I'll probably never own it.  The alien figures I have came from the goodwill outlet at $1.49 per pound.

Here is one that Lionel didn't follow the prototype in postwar production.

When originally advertised in the mid-1950’s, Lionel had a much different vision for the paint scheme on their 2240/2367 Wabash F-3’s. They were to be much more like the real loco’s with black underframe, silver trucks, white nose, long bottom and short middle white stripes and tapered upper gray area. The prototype was painted this way and had the number 2240 on one side and 2367 on the other. The actual production units had a much blander paint scheme and the Lionel prototype went into the archives. In 2017, the prototype surfaced when Neil Young auctioned off part of his collection.
