No.  I've never been to Toy Fair, Fall fair or any other toy mfr fair.  I rarely look at a mfr booth at York. 

For that matter I haven't looked at a current catalog since the 1990 time frame.

It's pretty simple for me.  If it doesn't show up at the vendor tables at York, I'll probably never own it.  The alien figures I have came from the goodwill outlet at $1.49 per pound.

Years ago at the San Francisco toy fair Lionel had a Black Window Train Master on display. Guess they didn't get enough orders. It wasn't made tell the MPC years. Don

In the 2016 & 2019 catalogs, Lionel was supposed to come out with a modular set of modern buildings. That's not happening 😭.

The MTH Disney Parks steam engine.  Not shown (the best of my knowledge) by MTH at anything like York, but was displayed at Disneyland years ago.

Alas, something caused it to never happen, hence the Presidents Washington and Lincoln steam engines that were produced.

Here is one that Lionel didn't follow the prototype in postwar production.

When originally advertised in the mid-1950’s, Lionel had a much different vision for the paint scheme on their 2240/2367 Wabash F-3’s. They were to be much more like the real loco’s with black underframe, silver trucks, white nose, long bottom and short middle white stripes and tapered upper gray area. The prototype was painted this way and had the number 2240 on one side and 2367 on the other. The actual production units had a much blander paint scheme and the Lionel prototype went into the archives. In 2017, the prototype surfaced when Neil Young auctioned off part of his collection.

Lionel's 18" Aluminum Texas Special cars. I pre ordered them. Then they were canceled. A few years later they substituted the 21" plastic cars.

I like the post-war red NYC lightning stripe F units. I bought the celebration series version back in 2011 (2012?). Would love to have a Legacy scale set. 

The green ALIEN figures were most likely already being made in CHINA. You just have to search the web to see if the ALIEN figures are still available from somebody.

yep, it’s been a few years, but i use to see those in the toy machines around here. actually i use to have a few.

This wasn't displayed at a show but one of the last K-Line catalogs featured on the front cover their Plymouth diesel pulling 3 or 4 two axle ingot buggies.  I would have love to have them.

Oh, boy...salt in the wound!  The MTH McKeen car that l drooled all over in its display at York, because with its odd trucks and shapes will be a hard bash or scratch.  What year was that?  I ordered one...the ship sank?  Naw... nobody else knew what it was? They didn't get enough orders....

From the 1996 Lionel catalog, the Mike Fullmer Engine Service facility. Was supposed to deliver smoke fluid, and had a worker that came out of a door and spoke to what the service was being performed. Cataloged but never produced.
