I don,t know how It happened but has anyone seen a tiu go bad out of nowhere I,ve had this for quite a few years and it says tiu not found

I have had this happen, I ended opening the tiu up and there is a chip where the antenna is it sits on the upper corner. Make sure that is seated all the way down on the connection. On mine it moved ever so slight downward. After I did that I powered up the unit again and believe it or not it’s worked fine. Been using it for the last year since and never was a issue again.

That is a generic message. It can mean several things. Mainly it's not getting the response back from the TIU correctly. Is TIU powered up? Red light on? power to track? Something wrecking the signal? Anything new or changed on the rails?
Etc., etc., ....

From what you posted it could be the TIU or remote. Power up the TIU either from Aux input or Fixed 1 with
18 VAC.
Does the red light come on? How many times does it blink? if any.

I think I found the problem the fixed power out became melted so I have to find one and replace it

Always check that all the connection posts are tight inside the TIU. I've seen brand new ones come with them loose.
