I need some help in upgrading my TIU.  In attempting to send the code to the TIU from my computer (via USB/RS232 cable), the TIU was not found.  I know that it is now on COM 4 of my computer.  I also double-checked all my connections, and they seem to be ok:  TIU to COM 4 port (USB); Proto-dispatch to Proto-cast via mini plugs; and power from a z1000 brick to the Fixed input 1 on the TIU.  Is there anything I missed?

WB,

One other thing.

Make absolutely certain that the TIU is powered off when the cable is inserted between the ProtoDispatch and ProtoCast ports.

With the cable in place, the TI should not blink at all when power is applied.

When the TIU upgrade is completed, remove the cable, and then power the TIU off and then on again before doing the DCS Remote upgrade.

Thanks for all the help.  System is now upgraded to 4.3.  All engines except one are working normal.  It seems that my PS 3.0 isn't being recognized.  All I have is a simple loop of O-54 curves, but when I apply power, the PS3 engine (sd70) starts up, and sits there.  I tried the "read" button, but it says "no dcs engines available" (and it's the only engine on the track.  It is listed in my Remote, but I cannot access it ("engine not on track")

Folks, after many times trying to get this ps3 running, I called MTH service (which is something I should have first done).  I got the engine running, but it was a stupid fix.  I didn't realize that the early PS3 locos had a switch located in the fan area where the Smoke and Volume pots are.  It can be either set for DCC or DCS.  Two guesses where it was set to.  The tech from MTH said that they no longer have those switches on the locos, but I'm just mentioning it in case someone else comes across this problem.
