I have a Lionel TMCC Culvert Loader 6-82029 from 2016. This one is programed using the ACC button and uses AUX2 to start and stop operation. I also have two control boards both of which run basically the same. The crane starts and moves out over the car but never reverses to return. The motor keeps running in the outbound direction.

It only runs with a remote, no other switches other than program/run.

Anyone else have this problem and were you able to fix it? Boards look OK.

It's not hitting the limit switch. Each action has a limit switch before the next action starts. Again, what you are describing is the motor running- hoping to eventually hit the switch, but it never happens or the switch or wiring is bad- so the next action never starts.

This is not a programming problem- it's either physical or electrical- but again each axis and direction has an end limit switch and they are semi fragile switches and wiring.

Again, just look inside the C or U shaped rail, there are 2 end limit switches (8).

It's either no physically hitting it, or the switch is no reacting.

You can test by telling it to operate and then gently using something to hit the switch when he carriage is trying to move that direction. That will tell you if the switch and wiring is working.

OK, Vern you are correct on all fronts. Didn’t realize the switches were so small. I think I did the resolve the issue though. This was handed to me after someone else had tried to repair it. It came with a spare board, motor, gearbox and rollers. I think there were two issues. One the motor was wired backwards and two, the switches had dirty contacts. Contact cleaner made a huge difference and now the motor reverses when hitting the limit switches. It responds to the AUX2 Command to start and stop at the home position over culverts at the loader.

Thanks again.
