What better way to remember the 70th Anniversary of D-Day then to be at a military air show.

And how does this relate to trains...well...spent time with OGR Forum members tacotrains and tedsGG1 and took photos of a train on a plane...see below. Also met a few other train guys too.

Weather was great but HOT, planes were great and the WWII atmosphere was really, really great.

Met the navigator of the backup plane to the Enola Gay (Hiroshima), one of the surviving members of Doolittle's Raiders (they bombed Tokyo in 1942), survivor of Pearl Harbor (December 7th, 1941) and one of the original 'Band of Brothers' from D-Day.

A most humbling experience to meet these fine gentlemen.

Show runs until Sunday and is located in Reading, PA.

Nice to see you yesterday, Walter.  Lehighline was there also along with several others whose forum names escape me.

I've been a member of that museum for 25 years and it amazes me how many museum members are into trains, including the president who has an extensive collection of S gauge.  Even had someone come up to me after hearing my voice and said he recognized my voice from the tv commercials for the First Frost and Spring Thaw train meets.

A couple my father brought home from the war in Europe shown in another thread. They were uploaded in a different thread so there is not an option to click for a larger image. Right click and select open image in new tab and they will be full sized.
