I flew Lufthansa back from Dusseldorf, Germany in October and they did not weigh any of our carry-on stuff.  Good thing, because they were heavy!

BTW, there is a pretty good hobby shop in Dusseldorf, with both European and American O scale.

This is exactly what I do when I'm carrying a train item.  I also tell every TSA person I come in contact with what the item is and ask them to be careful with it.

I flew on the last flight from Detroit to Providence on September 10, 2001, arriving just before midnight.  To this very day, I have no doubt there were probably more hijackers than those who succeeded and probably some of them were traveling on that flight.

I find all the whining about TSA's intrusiveness to be a bit ridiculous.  Due to a medical situation, I've been frisked by TSA for the last five years.  No TSA worker has ever been unprofessional with me in any way.  A good friend of mine who works as a TSA screener at Chicago-O'Hare told me most of the people having problems cause them all by themselves including bringing prohibited items with them or playing silly games to provoke situations.

Well to all of you that have trains as a carry on you now have one savior in the air.
My daughter was at the interview for about 45 minutes and they hired her on the spot. She'll spend 6 weeks in St. Louis training then into the air.
So if you see a beautiful girl with black hair standing at the door just tell her it's an O scale engine. She'll just smile and not give it a second thought.
