I have made a system that stops my trolley for about 12 seconds at a few places on the tracks. Is there a way to use a capacitor to power the interior light during the time it is stopped?

Try the electrical forum maybe? I've always had good results. Sorry this answer doesn't help you, I would imagine you could what you like.
Usually there is a separate constant lighting circuit, but beyond that I don't have the technical knowledge. Many of those I see on Google are for DC additionally.
Most capacitors discharge in a matter of seconds. The only thing I can think of would be battery lighting.
That is (the capacitor) exactly what i used on my trolley; just put it inside the car, was a fairly large one (3500) if i remember correctly.

I replied in your duplicate thread, use a SuperCap and LED lighting. Trying to power incandescent lights with anything but a battery would be hopeless.
