I have three MTH Genset engines. Two CSX and one UP and all three seem to have the same problem  When running them they all of a sudden stall and sometimes restart on their own and other times I have to move the engine.  I'm wondering if anyone else is having or has had this problem with a Genset engine.  A lot of the time it happens when the engines are running slow in the yards.  They seem to run ok on the main line at faster speeds.

Thanks

Joe

Engineer-Joe - It does happen at some switches and also on curves.

Gunrunnerjohn - Rollers are tight and i cleaned the wheels.

Gregg - I use one side of the track as a detection rail.

It seems that the problem is with the front trucks.  If I have the engines in idle and move the front truck the engine will shut down.  I've had them apart and the wires to the trucks seem to be ok.

Thanks for the comments fellows.

Joe

Check continuity between the rollers on the two trucks.  Also, trace them all the way through to make sure they're solidly connected.

Don't forget the wheels and their continuity.  The Genset has four wheels on a side, but two of them have traction tires.  If you don't have common on both rails, you only have two wheels contacting the power rail.  How is continuity from the wheels to the electronics?  Do they have wires from the truck frame?
