For the past couple weeks, my local train club has been trying to get DCS working on their O-Gauge layout. The layout consist of three concentric loops on a 18' x 7' table. The track is MTH RealTrax.
The problem seems to appear within the communication between the remote and TIU. If we have the remote directly above the TIU or within a foot of it, communication seems to be great! But if we try walking a few feet away from it, we can't get our remote to communicate with the TIU. I've tried hooking up a telephone cor d between the remote and TIU, but really didn't see any improvement. One of the members at the club said he put new batteries in the remote right before Christmas, so I doubt if it is issue with the batteries.A few times I received the message "TIU Error", which I have never seen before. I have thought about bringing in my DCS system and swapping out the remotes, then the TIU, and see if that makes a difference.
There is a DCC system operating in the adjoining room, could that have any affect on the DCS system?
