Trouble with New Cab1L Handheld

Hi All; earlier this year I bought a new Cab1L so as to have a spare . It worked fine at first but has just started not being able to increase engine speed above a crawl. It will start engines from stop, both in forward and reverse, but all you can get is a crawl. Boost works, but when you let it off the engine slows right back down again. Other functions seem to work as they should. I tried several different TMCC and Legacy engines; all the same.

So is there a reset or something that needs tweaking, or do I need to call Lionel for an RMA? eek I have not had it apart yet.

That's as odd as can be, I can't imagine any setting that would cause that, time to give Lionel a jingle.

The symptom kinda sorta sounds like the brake slider stuck down or partially down on a CAB2, but this is a CAB1L remote.

Is it possible the CAB2 was on and the same ID with Brake slider, and that also affects the CAB1L trying to run the same engine?

I know I'm reaching, just trying to throw possible scenarios.

If a Cab2 isn't in the equation, check the brake button , on the Boost/Brake buttons, isn't stuck.

Did some more testing today. Cab 2 brake effect is off, so its not that. I tested the brake button on the suspect Cab1L with an engine crawling, and it stopped the engine, but once released the engine blasted off to its wicked top speed of perhaps 3 mph. Tested the same engine with my original Cab1L and it works exactly as it always has; no issues at all. So whatever is going on it affects only the new Cab1L, though all other controls work correctly. Hhhmmmm?? confused Who ya gonna call; LionelBusters I guess!
