In the summer of 2014, I visited the Cass Scenic Railroad in Cass, West Virginia and rode behind Western Maryland Shay #6. Ever since then I've been searching for Cass equipment in O scale. After learning about and purchasing these kits from fellow forum member Dennis Schlossman, I am truly awed by not only these cars but the process to build them. Check out my video below to see these being pulled by a Lionel Legacy Western Maryland Shay #6.
The kits consisted of the car's frame, rooftop, and exterior detail + bench seating. Careful painting and gluing was required, and a steady hand at applying decals. I purchased and painted 3x lionel 6411 flatcars (6-16963) to serve as the underbody that the finished kits are glued to.
Happy Railroading!
