Platforms for the kit itself, as in a floor for the car’s bench comes as a piece in the kit that serves as a base for the frame to glue onto. Hope this helps!

I purchased and painted 3x lionel 6411 flatcars (6-16963) to serve as the underbody of these cars

I preordered a pre WVA State acquisition special run Cass Shay from Pat's Trains.

These cars would look great with that engine.
