Upcoming Chicago Area Train Shows

I always enjoyed the Scale 2-Rail Show, particularly the layout tours. It was a fun weekend with good train buddies.

 

I remember one show when Charlie, Andy and I decided to have dinner on a Friday evening after the layout tours. We went to a local area restaurant that was on the UP/Metra lines. What a fun night, good food, good conversation, and best of all trains frequenting the main lines outside the restaurant.

There is also a 1 day show at Lyons Township HS Saturday March 29th.   

Open from 9:00 am - 5:00pm.

Thanks, Jim.  That used to be a pretty good show, but I haven't been to it in a couple years.  Any thoughts?

We used to do that show up until about 8 years ago.  We no longer do and 1-day shows.  Too much work, too little play time.  

 

I think it is great for kids.  I am going this year just for the heck of it.  It is only 1/2 hour from my house.  

 

We used to do the Harper College show as well.  Gave that up because of the hassle during set-up and tear-down.

 

I guess we are turning into a bunch of grumpy old men.

The Hi-Rail Modular Train Club will be having there 60ft by 30 ft 3 track main line operating on March 1st & 2nd. March 15th & 16th April 5th 6th 19th from 10am to 5pm We are in the Franklin Center  201 N. Griffith Blvd  in Griffith Indiana. Also visit us on Facebook @Hi-Rail Modular Train Club. If you haven't been to the Hi-Rail Modular Train Group's layout in Griffith, IN you really need to make a trip to see it.  They have done a beautiful job there.
