There is a 6-18373 S2 with TMCC on my railroad that needs upgrading to run as well as the DCS locomotives on my railroad. My preference is to have a later version of PS 2 put into the S2, but there is a concern that the PS 2 electronics may be too tight a fit. I would like to hear the experience of anyone who has put PS 2 into Lionel's 6-18373 S2.

I have the earlier version of the S2 with TMCC and it runs great. Yours should have the better version of odyssey. I don't think the Ps2 electronics will fit in the engines.
Ps3 has a smaller foot print, maybe that will fit but I would not count on it.

It's been quite a long time since I took one of these apart, but I'm pretty sure that the PS/3 upgrade would fit without too much difficulty. This locomotive has the three standard TMCC boards as well as the DCDS module, hard to believe you can't put a PS/3 board in place of all that hardware.
If you want to be sure, I'd take the shell off and shoot a picture of the electronics to refresh all our memory about the location of the boards. The motor, as I recall, is offset to one side leaving a lot of room on the other side.
