Upgrading an Atlas Industrial Rail 20 Foot Ore Car

This ore car is lettered for Pennsylvania Lines. The body is a one-piece casting with separately applied brakewheel. It is supplied with “modern” roller bearing style trucks which are out of place for this particular model. I have replaced the trucks with Atlas Bettendorf style trucks which are better suited for this ore car. To allow the body to sit lower on the trucks I sanded down the Atlas ore car body bolsters. Enough truck clearance was made so as not to cause interference with the wheel flanges. However truck rotation is limited. Next I added an ore car “load”.
