Upgrading Lionel AC9 (6-38031) to PS3?

The PS3 kit is about $225.  The problem is that they are extremely scarce.  With MTH closing, we still have no definitive answer on the continuance the ProtoSound hardware and software.

Mechanically, it would be easier to add ERR parts to the existing TMCC setup to get what you want.

I would talk to Bruk and convert to Legacy.  Just my two cents.

Honestly your best bet is to just add a CCM and John's chuff stuff.

Any engine with DC motor and flywheel with the space can be upgraded to PS-3.  I have done lionel, atlas and the brass types.  Cost varies in labor on the engine.  G
