So, after 30 years of being married to my beautiful bride this coming April she is now helping me with getting some Standard Gauge trains. I used to say I would never get into the big trains but she and I changed out opinions on them. So with that said we started by ordering some green fitted table cloths to cover the tops and sides of some 6' folding tables and put down some track on them. After basic set-up today she has agreed to add a third 6 foot table for more layout space. I think this will work well and here is a same picture. I want to build 2 standard gauge loops and one o gauge for pre-war tin only loop. The plans then are to put up our tin buildings and such for a toy train feel. I have attached a picture of our progress today which involved a lot of cleaning and re-arranging.

Good start Jeff. Just make sure those tables are sturdy your dealing with heavy metal now! One suggestion I have is you may want to elevate the O gauge track. I think it will show case it better and not get lost behind the standard gauge. Just an idea.
Great start, Captain!
From another who has caught the bug, it's great to see you are doing your part to propagate the Standard Gauge virus........
The bug has spread
I told you!!!

Congrats!
I don't want to tell you, I told you so BUT...................
Really congrats on getting into Std Ga, a whole new well to put money down but very enjoyable.
Look forward to seeing the layout.
Well my loving spouse decided that since I took the day off today to assist me in building the upstairs standard gauge layout. Over the weekend she decided to go from 2 6' folding tables to 3 vastly increasing the layout size. Now we can run 2 standard gauge loops and one O gauge loop on the inside. Bonus is that we cleaned out more empty boxes so my loving wife can have a properly library/reading room. So here are some pictures of the progress:

Very close. I used 3.5 inch short straights next to the single straights on the outer loop so it is D42", 14" 4t, 3.5", D42" on then ends. I then added a 7" short straight on the ends of the inner Standard Gauge loop. The interior track is then O31. Besides those minor details you got it!

perfect.
Anyone duplicating this could use 57 STDG tubular on the outer loop. This would give track spacing of 7.5" center to center rail. The straights would change a bit.
