I have G gauge in the garden in addition to the O indoor layout and this is probably a question that only perhaps Lee or someone who is also into the RC hobby could answer..it might be a stupid inquiry. I have a early version of the G gauge Aristocraft Train Engineer that is simple. A receiver that takes power from the transformer and using the radio controller controls the power to the track..thats all it does. No bells, whistles, light controls etc Its very straight forward. Heres the question..could RC equipment that does the same thing be placed in an O gauge engine, or more likely, a trailing piece of equipment, say a B unit or boxcar? Do RC controls in other hobbies( boats, airplanes, helicopters, cars) have more than one channel that could be used for more than one engine in O scale? Has anyone looked into or tried this?

Thanks for the explanation but the Aristo unit I have has no servo. It serves to simply increase or decrease voltage to the motors, or reverses the polarity electronically by way of radio signal. Is there something similar out there? The unit I have has two channels and so if I put them, say in a B unit attached to separate engines whose motors are directly wired to each, theoretically I could could control each separately by having each use two different channels. It would pick up power from the rails and be directly wired to the motors.

I have the same type of Aristo control units you show for my garden g scale trains.  Are you talking about placing a receiver unit in a O gauge car to control the motors?  I don't quite understand what you want to do or why?  Just a little confused, easy at my age.

I do know that R/C equipment is susceptible to other frequency and environmental factors, like one R/c remote for opening window coverings actuating someone's garage door.  I have read about all types of R/C interference events.

I was asking if anyone made a unit similar to the Aristocraft unit only small enough to fit inside an O gauge locomotive. I thought other hobbies that use RC might have something similar.

The Aristo unit I have used for more than several years never had a problem with interference despite that I am surrounded by a neighborhood full of it with electronic keys, alarm systems tv remotes, garage door openers...maybe I am just lucky.
