I would like to replace a couple PS-1 and PS2 headlights with brighter leds. The PS-1 headlights are listed as 1.5 volt bulbs , if I am reading the parts list correctly. Would I have to tap into a different wire to use an led? I was going to try for 3mm warm white for replacement. I'm not sure if PS-2 is the same because I don't have a parts listing for that engine. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Another solution is to add about 5 diodes in series with each motor winding and tap off the diode string.  This will provide directional lighting for front and rear headlamps as well. You need a diode string for both forward and reverse motor direction. On PS-1 engines the diodes will reduce the top end motor speed somewhat. The diode string will provide about 3.5 volts to power an LED. Use about a 200 ohm resistor in series with each LED.
