My 120 AC to 12v AC wall wart has died. Does anyone have a replacement source? N/A at Lionel. In an old thread it was stated that generics will not work. P/N 610-2911-010
Thanks,

Thanks Rob,
It's mandatory that the TMCC BASE1 receive AC power, they actually do use the AC zero crossing internally in the base. If you find a truly isolated 10-12 VAC wall wart, you can use a serial adapter to tap into the DB9 pin.
Given the requirements of the BASE1 are 100ma at 12 VAC, this one is the cheap choice: http://www.allelectronics.com/...nsformer-used/1.html
You do still have to solve the issue of grabbing pin 5 of the serial data.
You fellows have lost me. Doesn't the base get 12 volts thru a coaxial plug.? How does the 9 pin port figured in? Also does it have to be 12v AC regulated?
Thanks for the help.

It's just a 12V transformer, no regulation. The real TMCC BASE1 power brick has a three-prong plug. The 3rd (ground) prong is connected to the outside barrel of the jack to the BASE1. Since we're most likely talking about a power brick without a ground prong, we connect pin-5 of the command base to earth ground, that's the ground prong of a 3-prong outlet.

Yes.

If the required factory supplied wall wart power supply is unavailable, there is an alternative in a pinch - using a similarly sized 12v(~100ma) ac wall wart and running a wire from pin 5 of the Command Base rs-232 port to the ground screw of a nearby grounded metal duplex outlet or household electrical ground... until you are able get the right proprietary adapter.

It can be, but as long as it's 12 volts at 100ma or pretty close, it will work until the specified one is available.
Ok, I get it. I'll try a substitute wall wort first. Failing that, it might be easier just to move it to my Legacy base. I'll post my results.

Good call, dude. They still show it on page 18, 610-2911-010 $20.
There it is, Pete.
Sent an email today and hopefully one is stock. Thanks guys, never would have found that.
