If you are interested in the GM Train of Tomorrow, you'll want to watch this newsreel/video shot when the T of T was being marketed by GM.  The video is about 2.5 minutes long and is in this link:

I posted the link in a reply in a different thread; but, the video really deserves a thread of its own IMHO.

Truth be told, I had no idea what the "Train of Tomorrow" was, or why there was so much hoopla about the arrival of a scale model--we have the importer reporting on the loading of the containers; the containers departing asia; the containers scheduled arrival in California; and, etc.  It reminds me of the "tracking" of Santa Claus as he makes his way delivering presents to all the good little boys and girls that takes place each year.

Curiosity aroused, I googled "Train of Tomorrow" and found a fair amount of interesting reading; drawings of the cars; GM's marketing efforts (nothing comparable comes to my mind, although much of the Tesla auto coverage has similarities); and, then this contemporary newsreel video appeared incorporating much of the information--in color no less.

Glad you and others have enjoyed the newsreel video; for myself, I was glad to learn about a real train presumptuously (?) calling itself the "Train of Tomorrow."

THANK YOU!

1) I loved it!  It makes me even more anxious to get my 3rd Rail ToT, hopefully by Christmas.

2) I watched it four times, twice just to see the train and the details, and twice to listen to the words - the 1950s PR-copy type written text the narrator is reading is fasincating, the use of adjectives ("scientific,"  and "ample." etc.) is particularly nifty.
