My latest project...
Hope you all enjoy!
If just one person downloads a picture to save, I have done my job! Maybe I'll get some outside pics soon!
Thanks,
- Mario

Mario:
You sure have caught the weathering bug. This is your best example so far. Keep up the good work.

Consider your job well done Mario as I have downloaded some images for show and tell and future study. Weathering to this level of detail is still something of a mystery to me. I know there are tutorials on "weathering in 5 easy steps" and that sort of thing but if it were that easy everyone would be doing it. Instead there are a few artists like yourself that have done it well enough to post pictures. I have done odds and ends on the layout but still don't have the guts to go "full engine" just yet.
Very Nice! You should do a step by step clinic for an OGR Article!

I have been published before, in magazines in the US and Europe... So I'm not against it, if they ask.
Thanks,

Nice. I like the mere traces of rust. Good technique.

Thanks, Lee!
My first try at the tender, I was told by a friend that "it looked like it was on the scrap line"... So, I re-dullcoted and just added more dust. I really like the green and dark brown pastels, it really layers up really well and looks greasy!
Thanks,

J-D,
My "secrets" (no secret, trust me) are above, and can be found in the attached PDF from Model Railroader magazine and reprinted (and found freely on the internet at Scenic Express).
I use a product called PanPastel weathering powders (see below), in two different kits; the Grime / Soot and Rust / Earth. I got them on Amazon.
