Weaver GG1 Electric RR Upgrade Question

I have a Weaver brass GG1 which I am considering upgrading to Electric RR Cruise Commander and RailSounds (right now its conventional). The question I have is that since the body is brass and grounded to the frame, how do I handle the antenna? I know that the antenna won't get good reception inside the body (I found that out with a set of Williams Metroliner cars with metal bodies). Since I'm not using the pantographs for power pickup could the antenna be connected to them to act as the outside antenna?

Yes,

You will not have a problem using the Pants for the antenna.

The pantographs is what is used for the antenna on the Lionel diecast GG1, so I suspect they'll work fine. I'd tie them together and use both of them as the antenna.
