I recently bought one of these engines but it arrived sans manuals.  I believe it has the TAS version of TMCC in the two units from the PDF files in the TMCC sticky manual post.  Does anyone have a copy of the manual (either the vintage one from TAS or the one Weaver included with the loco)  they could post for me?  All I could find on the TMCC sticky was a pdf of the motherboard.  If a manual for this system is on the TMCC sticky post could someone point me at it?  The system has cruise control and I need to know how to do things like change speed steps, turn the cruise off, reset the loco, etc.

Thanks;

Rolland

These units have EOB speed control.  The EOB install instructions have reset/set-up information.  Maybe a bit easier with old technology Command Base and Cab1 controller.   Check The Lionel TMCC/Legacy forum, there should be a lot of detail there. Click on the underlined phrase to link.  Also the manual included with your the model should have information.

Scroll down page 1 of this forum,  about 1/2 way, there is a detailed post of many of the TAS install manuals, which should also have set-up/reset information.

Thanks for the info.  Between Mike, GRJ and GGG I have found all that I need and am running the engine.

All I can say is WOW this is a good looking unit.  Each loco is 21" over the couplers requiring really wide radius curves.  They run in perfect unison thanks to the EOB in each unit and the sounds are great.  Right now they are pulling my Fleet of Modernism cars from last fall by MTH.  Great looking train!

Too bad there was not much demand for these when they were made.  My units are Tuscan Red with 5 stripes and the Weaver plate on the bottom of each loco says only 43 AB sets were made in this scheme.  If each paint scheme was made in like numbers (there were 4 paint schemes) that means that there are less than 200 sets out there.  This number is consistent however with some of the Weaver brass steam I have (GS-2 and Milw R7) which were in the mid 200s according to their plates.

Weaver BP 20 rear, Weaver E8's, upgraded, MTH Pennsy Heritage 5 strip.    Original offer was powered A unit, unpowered B unit.  There was a small demand at the time for Powered B units, I believe Weaver did this in house, Northumberland, PA.  Some wanted an A B A set. A lot of train, just the diesel units IMO.   Sold as an A B set, an additional A unit could be purchased separately.  There were single strips, and  PRR green ones also.  Rare enough most would command the original purchase price, since the second production was never done.

IMO.  Mike CT. Enjoy your model.
