Happy Friday Everybody! It is time once again for Weekend at the Movies! Last weekend I visited the NJ Hi Railers' open house. I had a great time seeing their amazing layout! Thanks to everyone for their hospitality! Here is the video I took.
Kyle Railroad (ex Southern Pacific) SD45T-2 no. 9330 at Salina, Kansas, with an HLCX (ex Burlington Northern) SD40-2. A classic vintage power team up in heritage paint schemes! I see quite a few ex Southern Pacific SD45T-2s in service with the Kyle Railroad around Salina.
Great shots of a Caterpillar train for the ages, Jeffrey! The buildings on the NJ Hi Railers set up are nothing short of impressive. I also enjoyed the Q2 coal train and the pacing shots of the Polar Express.
The Christmas Holidays mean lots of trains! Thomas the Tank engine was doing some back and forth moves on the lower level, testing the controller's skill in preparation for the National Capital Trackers display as part of the B &O Museum Holiday Festival of Trains, in Baltimore, MD. The modules will leave home for set up at the museum early in the morning of December 22, and be up for display through December 29. The Trackers will also have a display at the College Park Air Museum, College Park, MD December 14-21. In fact, that one is up now. I'll get some videos from it either Tuesday or Thursday for next Weekend's Movies.
Saturday was the annual Downtown on Ice Winter Festival held by the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department (our landlord at Angels Gate Park). Every year we set up a few loops and run trains for the visitors.
