Happy Friday Everyone!  It is time once again for Weekend at the Movies!  Sorry for the very late start, but I have not been home all day.  Anyway, I will kick it off with an older video I took of Amtrak and Metro North along the Hudson River.

Now, lets see your videos!!!

Completed work on our display for the season this week. Time to get started on spring projects and start thinking about our Christmas display.

We had the stone setters come out and add two more rows of stone to the upper bridges to accommodate the crowning achievement; the now hard to find Milwaukee Road animated billboard from Miller Engineering.

BandO Bill, that pic of the cherry picker next to that bridge reminds me of when I was a conductor for NS and we hit a cherry picker next to a bridge.  They were hanging a sign  under the bridge and had the sign hanging off the bucket of the cherry picker.  Luckily, no one was in the bucket.  The engineers side of the cab slammed into the bucket and it started to sway in and out between the hopper cars we had in our train.  Talk about perfect timing.  We stopped the train.  I went back to talk to the guys hanging the sign.  When I told them what happened they didn't even know we hit it.  Knocked the engineers mirror clean off and dented the engine frame next to the windshield  a little.  We made a report and continued on our way.  Never heard anything else about it.

David,

I took the picture from a commuter train when crossing the B&O bridge at Harper's Ferry.  I then cropped the high resolution photo down to the treeline.  Next I had it printed out on a 36" wide roll fed printer at Kinko's.   All of the other backdrops in my train room are from the Harper's Ferry area and were printed the same way.  Finally, the room is painted sky blue and all of the backdrops are trimmed down to the treeline.  That way the sky is consistent even thought the photos were taken on with differing light and skies.   This video explains a lot of the scenery I've done so far.   Overall, a lot cheaper than commercial backdrops.
