Happy Friday!
Been traveling the last few weeks, but I'm home now.
Coal is still serious business in Pennsylvania, as evident by a seemingly endless string of coal hoppers wrapping around Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, PA
NJ Transit ALP-45DP 4505 leads a NY bound local train over Parker's Creek in Little Silver, NJ
UP AC45CCTE 7720 leads eastbound 236 through Shawsville, VA in early morning light.
NS Dash-9 9543 leads westbound 23M under the 227 intermediates in Fostoria, PA. With the signal replacement now just a few miles away, this will probably turn out to be my last visit to these classics
NS SD70ACe 1090 is seen leading 159 through Lexington, NC on the Danville District
Southern GP30 2601 idles the night away at NCTM in Spencer, NC.
Endangered SD70M 2644 leads High & Wide move 052 eastbound past HUNT tower in Huntingdon, PA
A pair of BNSF SD70 variants lend a splash of color to an otherwise dreary day as they lead eastbound 732 through Mableton, GA.
Patrick, always something interesting happening on the FSJR...
Ted you are right always something going on the King of team track layout. Looks good as always Pat

No there's that odd fish that's been staring at me from the back of one of my mags from the 1990's. Jeff, is that one from 3RD Rail? If it is, I'd say that's ironic. That old magazine has been staring at me for some time and I always thought the Q1 was odd but interesting. Glad to see they don't just sit around with the stares of, "What weird thing is this?" Nice find.

I made a few additions to the area near the lift up section. I disguised the hinges by covering them with some clump foliage. But per CSX Al’s suggestion, I added some variety to each area so they don’t all look alike. Below are some before and after pictures.

@DAVE NYC HUDSON PRR K4, I am not usually into the one offs. The Q1 was experimental, only one made. Idea was a dual service. Going from more commonly seeing the Q2, the wheels on the Q1 are very striking. Having one set of cylinders in back allowed for large wheels. Ultimately a fail in that it never went int production. The sole Q1 ended up serving in freight service for quite some time however.
Edit: sorry yes 3rd Rail. Tmcc added and some other upgrades (LEDs and smoke unit)
I seen a neat ARMY repair facility called Sierra. it has three of its own engines, it is a huge base.

Use a good epoxy or Gorilla super glue. DO NOT use a solvent glue (Testors) on thin materials as it will work but can cause issues.....sometimes years later. The solvent will cause the thin plastic to deform.

AMCDave, Cargill sign was made of brass, not plastic.

1/2 or 3/4 plywood where the hinges sit on? It look good!
CGWForever, the hinges are mounted on 3/4" plywood blocks. The rail height is 1/2".

Andy,
Thank you!

I like the idea on the lift up bridge, looks very good with the scenery on it and it ought to work really well too.
