Hey Guys hear are some photos taken today 11-7-14. Its getting a little chilly out there todays temp was 44 degrees. And our 1st snow fall early next week. So I don't know how I might still take these photos each week because I can feel the coldness at the tip of my stump. I don't know but I'll have to see if there is a way to heat it someway. If any one knows let me know. OK hear you guys go. Enjoy
I really like your sharp eye for detail with your crafting of that yard because you realistically have the ground worn the most right alongside the perimeter of the building and onward toward the entrance opening, deeper and greener grass the farther one gets toward the fence. To me, that is how such yards wear in real life, with the least of the foot traffic nearest the fence and more apparent closer to the building. Clever. Real nice, BAR.

I think you have masterfully situated the police station and that operating fire-station. They stand handsomely together, creating a kind of "town square," and setting a dignified tone for the whole urban community. The whole effect is enriched with the stretch of that main street of shops where you have it, overall, a really excellent crafting of the space available for such real estate. Cool! IMHO.

Beautiful photo's everyone
Here's the Lionel Lantern and snow globe, a good friend of mine gave these to me. They are beautiful.

It's the weekend and time to start WEEKEND PHOTO FUN!!!!
Last Friday night I set up three tracks and ran trains for the kids at my church, Parkway Wesleyan Church in Roanoke.

A few pictures of the BMC club open house, a couple of weeks ago in Brugg (Switzerland). Yes it's O scale 2 rails.
The main station
The secondary station, connection for the Om parts of the layout and the rack railway line.
The staging station
Double headed MTH Re 482 (with upgraded drive) with a rolling higway
High mountains are mandatory on a Swiss layout
The perfect reproduction of the the Sitter Viaduct
Wineyard
Inside view of 1 of the helix
Again the rolling highway in a more scenic location
The layout shops where different steamers are under construction (aluminium/brass)..this should give an historic trainpark.
The only steamer permitted on the layout is this SNCF class 141.R (2-8-2)
That's because 1 of the very few remaining original is also home in Brugg.
A quick jump to the local shops to see her undergoing post season maintenance.
The club also has a small 3 rails tinplate layout with a nice collection of Marklin, Buco and Hag models
Sincerely

Always a good thread.
The National Capital Trackers are participating in the Rockville Lions Club train show in Rockville, MD. It is a small display show. No dealers. It is a fundraiser for the Lions Club. Z, N, HO, O, G, Standard Gauges are all represented. It is a very fun little show. This is the 24th year.
I set up an "into to O Gauge" poster and got a lot of catalogs from Catoctin Mountain Trains for people to take. I thought it was rather obvious they were free but it became apparent it wasn't. Guess the obvious isn't always the obvious! I'll make a "Free" sign for tomorrow! Regardless, it seems to be an effective tool. For a first time, I'd say it turned out well.

From the looks of both Roger's and LOS's roundhouses, they both look like Brennan kits. If I ever change mine, this would be it.
Northern Pacific action on the Seattle & Yakima RR
Northern Pacific Alco-GE diesels -- a treat, indeed!

Some fantastic photos everyone...what a treat.
My "new," as of yesterday, Marx Commodore Vanderbilt pulling into my Marx Girard depot.
Reminds me of an old video I have about the N&W 611 returning home to Roanoke.
A bit off topic but I'll add one last photo to my earlier post regarding the National Capital Trackers display show.
Today, as he occasionally does, Tracker member Mike Fistere didn't drive his "usual" SUV to the show. He rolled up in his BEAUTIFUl 1934 Packard Roadster. 3 of us took it to lunch this afternoon. I've ridden in it many times and it attracts a LOT of attention, even just sitting in a parking spot! About 800 of the cars were made and only a handful, about 30, are documented to still be in existence today.
Note the rumble seat in the back, ahead of the luggage trunk (an actual trunk!). That is where I like to ride! A bit brisk of a day so Mike kept the top up. This photo is from this afternoon. Mike dropped off the two of us and was leaving the show to go home and get his SUV to haul his stuff home.
One day this summer, I took a ride up to Catoctin Mountain Trains. When I pulled up behind the Packard, I knew exactly who was also at the store. Mike ended up taking myself and Paul Johnson, the owner of CMT for a ride around town.
Mike is very generous to share this car with all of us. He doesn't let it just sit in the garage and let it out a few times a year. Weather permitting, he drives it daily and wants to enjoy it as much as he possibly can.
