It is late 1949 (as always here on the Pomfret Division), and the photographer caught a newly cleaned Torpedo pulling an all Pullman train.  This surprised him since this engine is now usually delegated to secondary trains.  Must be a special that is taking a bunch of VIPs to party.

The engine is a Weaver, the baggage is Weaver, and the Pullmans are GGD.

Getting closer to NASCAR opening day. In light of that I am posting pix of my layout that show a pink and white trailer with a green mustang and a VW. 50 years ago, I moved to North Carolina with these 2 cars, and I lived in a pink and white 8' wide trailer while working for the Pettys. Great memories, I hope you enjoy the photos of my layout.

A 2019 Christmas Layout memory

Last week I showed the Plateau area PRIOR to connecting the two 4'x8' legs with a bridge.  As a side note, I love those Miller signs most of which are tied to the 'burgh: Clark Bar, Westinghouse, Rexall, the toothpaste sign, Duquesne Incline, and Heinz.  I have others in other parts of the layout.

z - Plateau Night overall without bridge

Here's the same angle with the bridge in place.  To me that was a big step because it meant that the plateau was finished and the 'gap' between the upper and lower level was taken care of with buildings and such.  Of course there was still a lot of scenicking to do below the bridge.

Great to see everyone's photos each week. Great video Scott, nice to see the finished layout and those great looking trains! And like those Rio Grande box cars; I have just finished painting up some old Atlas 1970's era box cars in that paint scheme! I like the Lionel 40 foot trailers they are very nicely detailed, as seen in Lee's post. I got a set of the Lionel trailers and worked last night to try to mix some blue colors on my computer to create some Great Northern Big Sky Blue decals, to cover the paint scheme. Wanted to mount these on an Atlas long flat car in GN blue. I looked at the various shades of blue on several Lionel, MTH, Weaver and Atlas freight cars then test printed till I got the colors I wanted. Very pleased with the new detailed trailers. I just printed on thin photo paper and mounted with thin double sided tape.

Roger, fabulous bridges and nice back story.  Did you mention working for the Pettys in the article about your layout?  Now that you've jogged my memory I seem to think I knew you had worked for them.

You guys really put the icing on the cake this weekend. My highlight was Friday night coming home, my brother's Arbor Day tree blew over from the ground being too saturated. It was a beautiful tree with no broken limbs like my other brother and sister's tree. Sadly it will have to be chopped up as there is no way to save it.

Nice New Haven pics too.
