Norm,
It looks like the Pennsy has really gotten its money's worth out of that N1.

Hey Chessie1971,
Does this area look familiar to you? I took these pictures of these lease units Tuesday.

That is my favorite loco. I have one also.
Plsticville had an early Independence Day parade, with Civil War Reenactors from Massachusetts that are in town to reenact a battle at the nearby Gage farm and Cherokee Valley Church, some Vietnam veterans that are in the area, and the town's lone WWII veteran, riding in a water car he brought home from Germany.
Here is my fleet of patriotic engines. I'd add my cars too but that would take up too many forum pages

From Maxie's demeanor, looks like he just signed-off on the occupancy permit for your new building.

Still in the UK. Got a chance to visit Howes Hobbies, the last train store in Oxfordshire. While the RC business is going well, there was s sign on the door that they are phasing out model trains.
They are still the importer for Heljan (High end O and OO) and will continue marketing that line and providing spare parts and service. They are also continuing their DCC decoder installation for G, O, OO, and N.
The typical O-gauge Heljan locos are about $1000 US. The train guy only works 3 days a week, so I could not get many technical questions answered. Since the length of the engines appears to be about 24", I was wondering the typical radius.
Beautiful stuff. They also have a selection of new engines that were somewhat damaged in shipping, have been repaired and are sold with warranty for about 2/3 the list price.
There is also a selection of passenger cars for about $400 and freight cars for about $150.
All the photos below are O gauge (probably 1:43)

Some new additions this week - in multiple ways!
Picked up a 3 pack plus the add-on of these Cargill Modern Tank Cars.
An impulse buy...one that will make the rivet counters cringe! This conventional Lionel A5 0-4-0 switcher in the Southern Pacific Daylight paint scheme sounds and runs great. I was thinking if I could get my hands on a set of the 027 MTH Railking Daylight cars from the Bantam Daylight RTR Train sets, I'd have a sharp little passenger train!
Also picked this up from my LHS today, an MTH Great Northern/BNSF hopper. Thought it was a really nice car and a "must have" - it is not often I see a "must have" piece!
I finally got my extension going on my layout - I can run trains. The switch I got from Ross had to go back due to damage and missing parts (part my fault, part not my fault). I hope to get that back within the next week or two.
Things look a little bare but I'll do some landscaping and detailing over the rest of the weekend. I may move a few things from the original section over to the new section. The entire basement needs a good cleaning, plus a trip to the local trash dump!
Hard to believe I'll soon mark 3 years since stepping down from the park railroad. Today it is unusual to see flags flying on the locomotives. When I was there, I always wanted the flags on the front, no matter what. If we didn't have flags, I made it a point to get a new pair pronto!
This is an older photo, but I've always liked it. The Bush '41 unit is now gracing John Pignatelli's layout (I bought a scale-wheeled Proto-3 version). As soon as I get the SD90MACs converted to fixed pilots I'll re-shoot the consist.
Great photos everyone!! Here are some from Patsburg. Have a safe, enjoyable, reflective, and relaxing July 4th weekend!!

Beer! ??? Someone said beer? I thought someone did? 4th= beer?
I prefer whiskey usually.
I used to work indirectly for Miller so that's what I drank, ......
for breakfast lunch and dinner anyways. Before that, my dad would have the Pabst, Rolling Rock, or others in the fridge. So that's what I drank.
This one is 2 rail and looks near mint? It will need some work on the details. I would like to add more realistic looking beacons up top anyways. I had passed on her until I realized that an extra helping engine just had to look the part behind the Amtrak Genesis. I ordered the newest one anyways incase this does not live up to the work needed.
Great pictures everyone.
My son and I went for a drive past the Kawasaki plant to see if any Metro cars where out ready for delivery to the East Coast. On the way up waiting outside of the plant we caught 4 switch engines waiting. Not sure if they are there for Kawasaki or to get a grain train farther down the line. As far as I know kawasaki plant is the only electrified RR in the state of Nebraska. Anyway here are a few pics of the cars before departure to the folks Washington, Boston, New York and Phillips.
