Wikipedia: "The Pennsylvania Railroad's class I1s steam locomotives were the largest class of 2-10-0 "Decapods" in the United States, with 598 built 1916–1923. They were the dominant freight locomotive on the system until World War II, and they remained in service until the end of PRR steam in 1957."

This MTH version is one of my favorite steam locomotives.

I still need to get a prr decapod.  Some day.  Hopefully a PS3 is in the future.  There's an interesting book called" Up and Running, The Life of a Pennsylvania Railroad Engineman" in which the prr decapods are discussed from crew perspective.  Apparently the crews hated it, very difficult and uncomfortable, and his opinion it was misused by the railroad!

@pennsy484 - "Apparently the crews hated it, very difficult and uncomfortable, ".  They were very rough riding at any speed above a crawl. Luckily, I don't have to ride in the cab - just admire it as it goes by.

Much like the PRR S1 and T1......in my little world they are successful and loved and lasted into the 1950's.....why I like my little world!!!

Some pics from a couple years ago, running trains out at AGHR...

Here's a shot from the back side of the layout, showing a train emerging from the staging room:

I was running TMCC number 83 that day...  My daughter put my name on the deconfliction board.  This still cracks me up:

First train item I have bought in many years. It is a MTH CTA el train set.I have been riding the CTA trains quite a bit the past few years on the weekends to get around in the city and avoid traffic and parking troubles.I couldn't resist buying an O gauge model of the el train I enjoy riding.
