Former N&W SD40-2 1643 heads out of Rock Hill, SC on the R Line w/ local P83
CSX GE ES44DC 5273 is on the point of NS 201 as it crosses the New River in Radford, VA on the Pulaski District.
The NS OCS rolls down the R Line in Fort Mill, SC as it heads to Augusta for the Masters
Union Pacific GE AC44CW 6588 leads eastbound intermodal 234 through Wabun, VA on the ex N&W main line as a light dusting of snow covers the ground.

Outstanding photos.
Here’s the latest acquisitions from our Easter trip to the States on the layout.
Mason got the ALP-46 for his birthday a couple of years ago. The store were sold out of the bi-level cars so he got a good deal. I preordered the cars from Ready to Roll and picked them up at Easter.
Interesting/strangely the ALP was loaded with the DB versions sounds. So announcements were in German. Been playing around with DCS a lot more after we picked up the WIU so I took the plunge and loaded the correct sound file for the NJ Transit version.
Have a great weekend

Why? It does appear to be a NYC J1 or J2 (ex-B&A) Hudson (can't quite read the number), not a Mohawk, late in life - note the lack of class lights - pulling a freight, and apparently at a good clip.
Been discussed before, but Hudsons certainly could and would pull freights, especially toward the end. Mine do, as passenger trains are not overly my thing.
When the photo was published in MR, that Hudson was not yet scrapped. Wish we could say that now.

Very nice Rich!!
I sure wish you gents were around when I lived in Fredericksburg!! 1977 to 1978 and 1985 to 1993 I worked for Vepco/Virginia Power way back then.
C. Sam the old T Rail 072 track makes anything look great. Several years ago President Maddox of Lionel said they still had the machines necessary to make T Rail again. I urged him to do it but it did not happen. It was probably scrapped when a lot of Lionel merchandise, etc. was sold in Michigan.

What does the lettering read? Pennsylvania? The first letter looks like P, but I can’t tell anything else.
"What does the lettering read? Pennsylvania? The first letter looks like P, but I can’t tell anything else."
Yes, Pennsylvania. One panel says "PE", and the next says "NN". Not sure about whether the rest of the letters are revealed, I will need to look at it again. I think its cool that 50 years after the demise of the PRR you can still see such remnants here and there, like the soon to be removed PRR signals.
The other side does indeed spell out "PENNSYLVANNIA RAILROAD"

I realize that this is sort of like talking to myself, as I'm "responding" to my own post, but I got a "Like" in my e-mail today and for some reason re-read it, and I had said in it: "Hudsons certainly could and would pull freights, especially toward the end".
Now, from where else would a Hudson, or any locomotive, pull a train, except "toward the end", I ask you?

That is a nicer pic for sure. These are the ones below, a short bit West, that I more usually get stuck under in traffic. Lol
