It's very early Friday and I am still awake so let's get the weekend photos started.

I have been spending time this evening trying to get my inventory list for the Collector Dash Model Train site and I came across all these promotional K-Line boxcars-K-Line did a really great job creating excitement around their promotional events:

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Smithsonian Museum of American History.  A couple of highlights from the transportation section included the 19th century John Bull, which ran between Camden and South Amboy, New Jersey....

....and the Southern Railroad's 4-6-2 #1401.  I thought it was interesting that this  engine handled one of the legs of the journey made by Franklin Roosevelt's funeral train on its way to Washoington D.C. in 1945.

As enjoyable as those visits were, it was good to get back to my own miniature RR world...

Looking forward to getting a layout up and running again.... we completed the walls for the layout room within the warehouse this week and now we are working on trusses for supporting the lighting...... My son, Mini-Muffin, was a big help - and Eclair.....

Here's a shot of the Kanawha on the old layout. I would post the MTH Premier C&O Texan, but Scott has it.

Jack "The Apprentice" Kemph has been pretty busy with layout details lately. Last weekend, he added utility poles to the town and even strung "wire" using sewing thread "donated" from his mom's sewing kit. I see time in the doghouse in his future when mom finds out.

RS1's headed for the bridge.

This pair of RS1's took several years to put together. I had purchased one, then kicked myself for not having ordered the second road number. A couple of months ago, one popped up on eBay and I was the highest bidder. It was actually brand new in the box.
