Brian....I really like the picture of the K-line CZ observation car.  I noticed that you said it did not come with the lighted drumhead.  I have the same car and it has the same drumhead...and it is lighted.  I think they came that way...??  Perhaps you did something different with yours but it looks just like mine.  Can you elaborate?

Thanks,

Alan

Send me your junker Lionel Trolley shells!

WOW! SIRT, those shells are little masterpieces. I hope those bodies are being transferred to some fine museum for restoration.

I'll bet if you GOOGLE for picture framing tools you'll find something like them. You might try MicoMarks too. There are no manufacturer's name on any of those corner blocks

Bruce...Great job. Those bottom clamps with the square corner jaws caught my attention. How many time I would have done most anything for something like those. Can you fill me in as to where to buy and approximate cost?

Thanks and again, great job!

What put you on the ground?

(My opinion only)...strong storms and about a weeks worth of heavy rain slightly shifted the rails and ballast. It is a lightly built siding buried in gravel with few ties. Really not a big deal at all, just a slight speed bump to the morning routine.

Great shots everyone!

Went down to Red Hook, Brooklyn today for an art show. Since it's a huge warehouse district, I brought the camera along. While looking for a place to park, I discovered these. I was curious if these were part of the Robert Diamond effort.

While taking the shot I spied the gantry crane in the background.

I had to shoot this through a driveway; because I was told I couldn’t walk to the end to get a better shot.

That was probably a good thing because when I drove down a few blocks I hit pay dirt in the IKEA parking lot.

I believe that this grouping are stationary like the Lionel 182 ; but he one at the parking entrance is on rails.

I took these close-ups because I am interested in how it was propelled.

Each wheel set has one axle that extends out about 1’.

There appears to be a motor box with a winch device mounted here.

If I uderstood correctly this derilict transferred coal from the ships to a powerplant. There appear to be gondolas on the lower level. I think that those are two loading points on top.

Another interesting site was this LV barge that has been converted into an office or residence. Those are skylights on the top.

NICE!!! Happy to see others building cars!! I was traveling this weekend and went to a hooby shop I'd never been to. Asked if they had any roller bearing trucks for a project.....the reply was yes.....with the comment 'nobody builds O scale cars any more'....I said I did!

This is my favorite pic. She looks great outside!!

Thanks Joe, she certainly does!

Was most pleased to see these two take off smoothly and negotiate the large layout. I had to run and dodge plants and bridges to get photos of them at different positions!

The smoke worked well too. I may have to spring for a RC installation sometime soon to really enjoy running them.

Both are USA Trains models. My wife bought the SD70 off eBay for me several years ago not knowing anything about them other than that I liked the Santa Fe.

The Alco I found under a dealer's table at this past York all covered with dust. It has a closed pilot which looks nice to me.
