Although the smoke was turned down when I took the above AFT shot, I had it turned up to the max for a little while, and it was a show-stopper.   It would make it a whole two times around the layout before the smoke needed re-filled.

We ran our new PRR S-2 at the club again today...

...and this afternoon, we tried our hand at hand-drawing graffiti with paint pens.  Here is the result for my first-ever attempt:

...and here is how it came out for my daughter (age 5).  I was impressed with her art skills!  Kind of impressionist

That hurts, Dustin. Good job, but seeing that on a CNW car hurts.

On another note, photographed the Zito yellow cars mentioned in an earlier post outdoors. No wonder James Zito liked that color for better visibility. It's loud.

...Andy

Out of all your really nice views, I find this motel vista to be exceptional and wonderfully executed. We can tell when somebody has modeled what they have seen as a prototype in real life because the truth of it is present. Really nice.

Matt,

Well, if it makes you feel any better:

(1) This particular CNW hopper has multiple issues (broken steps, missing brake wheel, snapped detail parts, scuffs, plastic trucks) and required intensive care from Dr. Elmers to even get in run-able condition. ...so it was a good candidate for some practice weathering.

(2) This is the only  CNW piece of rolling stock in our fleet, so we don't have any others to desecrate

(3) I'll let you know when we run it at the club, so you can avert your eyes

Oh, and those zito yellow hoppers look really nice!  Good find!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!  The drawings came out much better than I had any right to expect!

I picked up my Long Island Railroad N5C caboose today, a perfect companion to my Long Island 2-8-2 Mikado and freight train and I expect it will also be a perfect companion to my on order MTH Premier Long Island 44 ton switcher. I also expect it find a place on my Long Island RR passenger train occasionally. unnamed

Passing through Butler, PA on Saturday, the B&P had quite a bit of power at the shop as you can see from the sidewalk on the PA Rt 68 bridge.

First we have the B&P 3063 and 462 with the grey WCOR 6072.

Hey Steven,

I think the MP15E program is a Juniata one.  At least that's what they have on the Altoona Works info web site.   http://www.altoonaworks.info/  From what I read, I believe Roanoke just has the Dash 8.5 program and RPU6 slugs.

Here are a few photos I took of the East End shops and Freight Car America in Roanoke from the train.

Maybe they needed to get to the smoke on/off switch on these.

Let's see your pictures.

Scott, could you tell me if NS is also doing MP15E rebuilds in Roanoke? I saw your picture and became a little curious...

I have never seen anyone do a welcome sign that had the local clubs and organizations on it in o-scale.  I love that detail!
