Here are some pictures from the layout I just tore down.

John, really like the auto transport. Takes me back to my earliest drag racing days of the mid-60's. Some of the guys with "real" funny-cars, gassers, and blown-gassers modified early 50's pick-ups with ramps reaching up over the cabs and very heavy-duty suspension.
Fifteen or twenty years ago I found such a die-cast 50's Ford. Look at the bottom center just beyond the track, dark blue with sliver ramps,
I have some Willy's gassers and blown gassers that pair up to this carrier.

Thanks Ron! That is a cool one and I've been thinking about modeling that kind too. I might have to mock that up tonight!

Look center left to see the red/white & blue 41 Willys blown gasser to be carried by the 50's Ford transport. In my days of dragging the 41 Willys was most desired. Great weight transfer ability.
John, another view of the 50's Ford transport.

It is late 1946 and a lucky photographer got a picture of the Pennsy's unique Q1 as it left the yard. This was the last revenue run of the big engine as it was put on the retired list soon after. Unfortunately this great piece of history was scraped in 1949.
The model is by 3rd Rail. I picked it up at the April York, and the photo was taken by forum member PENNSY484 on his layout.
