Frank, your scenes are so interesting and detailed.  Like the artist hidden in the weeds here.

I got this kit last week at the LCCA convention in Chicago. It is an engine shed that you could get if you subscribed to Lionel's "Model Builder" magazine in 1942. Also got the magazine pictured on the ad attached to the box, plus several others. The kit is disassembled, and looks like a fun, quick build, and pretty nicely done considering it is 75 year old card stock. The instructions will be framed once I'm done.

I'm just curious Frank, have you ever had to chance to visit George Sellios and his Franklin and South Manchester Railroad in Peabody Massachusetts?  You have the same great sense of creativity.

Lou N

Hi Lou N, What an extremely pleasant thing for you to say to me. Thank you, most sincerely.

I have never visited his layout in-person, but I have poured over photos of his layout many times, trying to absorb as much inspiration and instruction as I could, to reassure myself I was on a good path.

Hi Frank,

I have George's videos, his book, and have been there in person.  If someone asked me to describe the technique and methodology that makes his (and your) layout so appealing I would be unable to answer.  You have captured an era, a reality, that few of us achieve.

Frank M., I love the roof repair and the weeding with the hoe.  Is that painter painting "happy little trees"?

Thanks, Coach. But regarding if the painter is painting "happy little trees," maybe, or maybe he is painting "My close-up of these pesky shrubs," (LOL) , but I'd say that interpretation would be up to your imagination. I can't decide. He is whispering to us, however, as we watch his progress over his shoulder.

Railway Exchange Building in Chicago  in 1968 and then August 3, 2018 (a view from Lollapalooza 2018, marking the 10th year in a row my wife and I have gone to Lollapalooza). The building is not as impressive with its current signage.....

That Santa Fe sign, or its successor, is preserved at IRM. Yes, the Railway Exchange Building has been diminished by the Motorola sign.
