Got to spend a little time running trains with my daughter today:
...and finally snapped a shot of our "Star Trek Into O-Scale" scene:
...and went to the living room to find our kitty (Star) had made herself at home halfway up the Christmas Tree:
Thanks to everyone again for sharing such great pictures - as always, photo fun is my favorite thread!

Very poor photos but on the way home from Catoctin Mountain Trains, I stopped in Walkersville to catch the 3pm Santa Train backing north at Retreat Road. Santa trains are running on Saturdays and Sundays until 12/22. I'll be brakeman 12/21. Come on out for a ride. www.wsrr.org.

Set up the Polar Express around the tree this morning. My son has been begging me to put it since we put up the tree on Friday.
He is just 3 but he understands how to control the train using the transformer.
Here he is blowing the whistle as it goes around the tree.

Chris, great look.
Fun pics this week.
Below is one to help get you in the Christmas mood:
* It has snow in it.
* It has trains in it!
(I took this pic years ago before it was against the rules to take pictures when railroading.)
Here's a shot that shows how we are doing on the new layout.... we have the benchwork in and will be laying track soon..... Thanks to my friend Bugs, and a pair of superstar high school baseball players - can these guys haul lumber.... and trains!

To:Gary Mcrady,
Good Evening Sir,
While looking at the pictures that you posted of your layout, I noticed you had a Blairsville Police Station. Also, there is a Islay's Ice Cream building in the picture. Years ago, there was a Islay's store on Market street in Blairsville, PA. One other thing I noticed one of the pictures hanging on the wall looks like the old PRR station in Blairsville, PA. I was wondering sir, did you live in Blairsville, Pa. I'm from Homer City, PA and when I was a young boy I use to enjoy going to Islay's in Blairsville.
Jim
Was born in Latrobe Hosp. Lived on Maple Ave in Blairsville until we moved away when I was a youngster. Moved back for my high school years.... Actually worked in Homer City on PD in 1985. Moved to Lancaster area (Mount Joy,Pa.) since 1991. Good friend in Tom (Gus) Bell... many ,many fond memories of B' ville and PRR PC and Conrail... and Isalys etc.
Thanks for the reply Mr. McCrady. Having lived in Homer City for all my life except the first six months of my life I got to know a lot of people from Blairsville including Mr. Bell and his son Tommy who now lives here in Homer City. Mr. McCrady you are about 11 to 12 years younger then me. My mother was from Black Lick and went to school in Blairsville. Small world.
