I enjoy finding Chuck Genna, Mike Taylor, John Devlin and other forum members.
No shopping list. I haven't purchased much at York in recent years. But I am still looking forward to going!
10-5155 MTHRRC purple baggage car
390E engine with ps/2
10-2149 Ives circus stock car
That's pretty much it.
Good weather!

I would like to find myself at York
That sounds very philosophical.
Most of us are searching for our youth.
"Three Days Of Fun And Music" - oh, wait, that was my misspent youth.
I guess I'll settle for three days of thousands of toy trains and comaraderie.
And scrapple.
I would like to find myself there, but will have to wait until spring.
When I said "I would like to find myself at York" I meant it literally, however my Doberman is 17 and my German Shepard is 15 (both rescues) and they are really slowing down this year. I feel my time will be better spent with them, so maybe I'll make spring York and enjoy reading about the fall show on our forum.

Can understand the situation with the dogs. We have two rescue cats that fit a similar mold but with the automatic feeders and the extra litter boxes they can stay unattended for a couple of days. As for dogs, consider that some hotels allow them for an extra fee. Perhaps something to consider for the future.
Jennifer:
Dogs are so important in our lives. We also care a great deal about our dog and do not want to kennel him. We located a friend who is now our house/dog sitter who has made travel now possible for us. This was the perfect solution for us.
I have been taking my Bingo's to York for 37 years. The Holidome is very dog friendly. No extra charge.
Time to get away from the booth and see some friends.
Don
My Shepard was a roof top rescue from hurricane Katrina and my Doberman was a neglect and abuse rescue. They are my best buds but they have abandonment issues. I am going to call the Holidome and check for availability, it sure would make the fourteen hour drive more pleasant. Thanks for the tip !
Hello guys and gals.........
I just adopted a unwanted feral cat that been sitting in cage for almost a year at the animal shelter before I pick her. She wont let anyone pat her except me. I called her "Lucy" from the peanut gang cartoon (Charlie brown). She responds well to that simple name. I was told by them that she came from a abused home where home owner had 103 cats!!!

Hope this works for you Jennifer.
I will pick up any passenger car sets that I do not have.
Nope. Just underbody details and the refrigeration unit visible behind a sliding hatch at one end.

Shrewsbury, cases and cases of Natty Boh beer! As for York, if I tell you guys, one of you will go and snatch it up before I can get to it! That information is strictly classified until the item is in-hand.....
Putnam Division will have a copy of "the list"...
Gilly
Marty, I hope you already have the passenger sets that I will be looking for!

"I will pick up any passenger car sets that I do not have."
OK Marty, as long as this does not include the K-Line Surfliners.

Good for you Jennifer! I would do exactly the same. My dogs come before trains"Always" I saw a great bumper magnet the other day,"I love my dogs. "It's humans that annoy me! So true.
As far as York is concerned I'm not shooting for anything in particular;Maybe some Passenger or freight cars I've been looking for and the usual smoke fluid, parts at MTH.
in no particular order I'm looking for
MTH Staraburg 64' passenger cars
MTH LIRR H-10s
MTH LIRR "MTA" Caboose
Atlas Trainman "Railbox" boxcars that came out earlier this year
Lionel PRR 40' flatcars
Loads for Lionel PS-5 Gondolas
3rd Rail PRR Horse Express car
I hope to find buyers for all the items I've been pricing and packing over the last few weeks!
I'll be set up in the red hall for the first time in two years With a variety of prewar, postwar, and modern goodies for sale. Need to sell some things to replenish the train fund after purchasing a Third Rail N&W Mollie in Strasburg livery!
Also looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and getting away from work for a couple of days.
Here's to a great York meet. Hope every one has a good one!
Maybe I'll look for a really nice poatwar Lionel 250 steam engine. They are somewhat difficult to find with good stripes, an undamaged pilot and good marker lights. According to Tandem Associates, it's a one year only engine,
More shelving from the gentleman in Buffalo. A wide selection of light bulbs, hopefully a kit in a nice case with dividers. Or I could put one together myself. A couple of pick-up items (locomotives) already ordered for the kids on behalf of Santa. And, last but not least I have to pick up a set of 2400 series passenger cars from my dad that I had restored.
I don't have any particular must haves at this point. Just planning to look for what catches my eye. I do have a set budget I plan to stick within. Mostly I am just looking forward to being at York and seeing what the experience is all about. Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you there.
-James
As usual I'll be keeping my eyes open for Skyline building kits, a couple LWs, an MTH Premier Seaboard caboose, Tropicana OJ cars (orange), anything Lionel Alaska RR and lead figures.
Jerry
There are good restaurants in York but most are away from RT 30. Most of what you find along Rt 30 are "restaurants" that heat up pre-packaged and canned food. Most of these joints serve food at the lower end of culinary scale. If you want to dine in a restaurant serving farm to table food with schooled chefs that cook fresh and from scratch:
The Left Banke on N George Street ( Upscale)
The Blue Heron on E Market (French chef )
Market Street Café Small family run place that serves Thai and Vietnamese food
Masa (Very good Japanese food near Ruby Tuesdays)
You can check out their menus and locations online.
Let me know if you find a good place to eat in York. April York we drove east for a long time, and hit a Pizza place in Gap, Pa, but by then were wasted.
Hmm, Scrapple Pizza sounds intriguing...
A day to go, and if I find that, then I'll be hunting for MTH's model of the PRR 1187 (PS2, since I don't want to pay the price for the PS3 model)
I found what I wanted! I will be down Friday, and possibly Saturday!
