I don't usually get train stuff, because nobody knows, much less, makes, what l want, but l got a surprise in that Menard's locomotive shed. It is the third of the Menard's buildings l can use, with a bash into a steam loco shed. It was a surprise! I hope it is long enough for the MTH Russian Decapod and the Great Western/Strasburg one yet to come. If not long enough, that, too, will be bashed and the building lengthened.
First Christmas in years I got something train related.
I got an original copy of Ron Ziel's book, "Steel Rails to the Sunrise." Arguably the best historical/photographic collection on the Long Island Rail Road.
Next week is a "train Christmas." My two LHS both called. My MTH house with Christmas lights and my MTH Pennsylvania Railroad "Liberty Limited" F3 diesels have arrived.
Merry Christmas to all!
I bought myself a 3rd Rail Q-1. I also had my Q-2 upgraded to PS3 and my S-1 repaired. I did receive some freight cars as gifts. Not to sound cheesy, but the only gift I will ever need is my family. Spending these times and making memories is what I love the most.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Greg

I got two conventional train sets. (Still in shipment but coming. ) The Williams by Bachmann B&O Timesaver and then Lionel Paul Revere Set.
MTH PRR GE 44 Tonner from my wife.
I also received the Menards Locomotive shed from Santa. Its arrival is timely as I am currently expanding the layout to store my passenger trains. I added an additional switch, and now the shed will fit fine. I like the lighted CNW sign and the lighted interior.
A second GP40 for dual power for my 30+ car army train.....
It's doing nicely with a small scale trial run on the home layout. Debut on the modular layout will be January 7th and 8th. I'm looking forward to it!

My son purchased one of the new PS-1 sound boxcars by Lionel from a large Lionel dealer on November 25th. After nothing arrived in two weeks, he still didn't have a shipping confirmation even though the order had been confirmed. He then sent Customer Service an email that went un-answered.
A week later, my son called and they stated it was to be shipped that day. On December 21st, the dealer called and said they didn't have the boxcar requested; at this point they asked if a alternate would suffice. They then stated they would ship an alternate, but would not arrive at his address until at least December 28th.
And so, after almost a complete month elapsed, he still doesn't have in his possession his gift to me..........
About the sign on the loco shed: l will have to make one....none of the east slope Colorado roads are included:. C&S, Q, Rio Grande, MoPac, or Rock lightssland with those TA's.
The 1218 that is still doing well??? and the Veterans SD that is still in the box.
Santa been very good this year.

Why is the GG-1 blue?
Two tone no less.
Santa didn't bring me anything, but Scott Mann is sending me a couple passenger cars. I was surprised he was working today.
I cheated and did not wait for Santa to give me this and bought it myself and put it in my ...it is a somewhat beaten up Bruce Greenberg book. While it has been out for several years already, this is my favorite prewar O Gauge book with good coverage of my steam switchers. I already have a pristine version, but I wanted another one that I could use without worrying about ruining its condition.
I also had work done on my latest prewar steam switcher basket case, which I think of as a Thanksgiving-Christmas miracle since I just got it back recently and it runs sooo smooth! Another 77-ish year old steam switcher is up and running again after lots of repair work by Harry Henning (and his folks) and great advice from David Johnston and some work I did as well as my friend Bill. So, I have a spot under my reserved for this loco when not on the track.

For me, he brought me the new MTH 20-20635-1 NS AC44C6M #4000. Gorgeous model. Sometime I'll post photos.
These are items that my wife bought me.

I got the Lionel Heisler and logging cars, as well as some MTH log cars. My wife also got me a covered hopper. Also got some old railroad history books.
My LHS closed up this year so santa didn't know where to shop for trains. In lieu of that I got 10 movies on DVD instead of the one or two train items I would have normally received.

So true! No one else in my family is into miniature railroads, so they haven't a clue what I want. To them, all toy trains are alike. But my wife surprised me with a Lionel #40 water tower for use with my tinplate trains, and a scarce MPC Canadian Pacific B-unit to go with my MPC CP A-As.

United States Toy Train Company Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) five-car train set.
Peter, nice army train. I thought about taking another two years in the Army to go to Army Railroad School but thought better of it. Came close though. Wonder if they still have those schools? Don
Just looked it up. They still do, take a look at this.
Mrs Santa gave me a MicroLux mini table saw from Micro-Mark to make my scratch building safer. She says it scares her when I use my 10" Delta table saw to cut such tiny pieces of wood. Heck I've been using it for over 20 yrs and still have 9 1/2 fingers left.

I got the same thing from my wife! I actually picked it up the day it arrived at my LHS and when I got home my wife said if I didn't open it until Christmas she would pay for it.....so I took her up on her offer!!
I also got a tinplate bocxar and a 911 country estate with a 191 villa.

My wife and I didn't get to open all of our presents today. We pretty much reserved the day for our children and grandchildren to open their gifts and spending time with family. I guess you could say we will celebrate Boxing Day ala the United Kingdom, when we open our gifts tomorrow. Still, I received a few gifts from family that I opened today. Trains were a theme. Two gift certificates to a LHS and two Lionel O72 Command Control switches. Very nice and will be very helpful towards building a permanent, small layout that we have started.
Hope everyone had a great day, regardless of gifts received. We had about 25 family members for dinner, the best part of the day. Merry Christmas, everyone.
I got a set of K-Line Reading Two-Tone coaches. They look great with my Lionel Philadelphia and Reading Camelback.
I also got a Philadelphia and Reading ticket punch.
