I spent the day trying to find the part number to order the LC+ 2.0 Southern Berkshire #2716 that Ryan Kunkle has been talking about in multiple FB live shows and podcasts.   Nothing online.   Lionel doesn't know and couldn't get ahold of Ryan.   Nothing at Trainworld, Nassau, Legacy, or even Charles Ro that I called.   They aint gonna sell many if they don't get out the part number.   Ryan said that they "FORGOT" to put it in the catalog but it is the 5th of 5 prototypical Berkshires that are being built now.  Asked Dave Olson via PM but no response yet.

Plan to order a bunch of stuff when I figure that out.

Its was never in the catalog. Maybe he "miss -spoke" or was referring to a future offering.

I loved this catalog...  i ordered a 5452 hudson, and KCS, DRGW, CBQ, and DMIR 2-10-4's and a pair of UP ES44s...

Also ordered the Area 51 trackmobile complete with man in black engineer figure to support my area 51 layout.

I ordered the SP Overnight sounds box car for my SP express Night train.  Also will probably add the great PRR and WP sound box cars too...

I got a few tank flat cars (both numbers of UP, and SP to start a western 1944 military train, some cabooses and some 30k tank cars to lengthen the ethanol tank train.

Naturally also ordered the UP excursion 2 pack of pass cars...

I will add to this and have some last minute things i am deciding on too...  still deciding on a J, bipolar or some passenger cars...

I got seriously sick two weeks ago and put the damper on my orders.  So hoping to add some more before deadline...

Nothing, I don’t run all the stuff I already have. Plus, if I go to my shelves, I find stuff I forgot I had and it’s just like getting a new train without the $1000 price tag.

Same here.

I will pay the high price only if someone comes out with a new type box car model that hasn't been offered in O yet.

How true! I was recently moving stuff from one cabinet to another in my garage and I found a whole shelf of new trains that I forgot buying. Probably stuff from a forgotten Greenburg show.

He went in to pretty good detail and said it was being made now.  I even went back and found what he said it a couple FB lives and on Notch 6.      Said they FORGOT to put it in the catalog.      I sure hope what he said is true.   Its the one thing I wanted the most!!

Speaking of good trains ... I don't see how anyone born in the '40s, '50s, or even '60s, could pass up the Spy v. Spy boxcar.  What a hoot - and a memory.

I was born during one of those decades and could not care less about a Spy v. Spy boxcar.

I ordered nothing from the catalog, I did however order an uncatalogued J3a Hudson from Pat's Trains.  Depending upon availability, (limited production) the 15th Anniversary PE set is a possible purchase once delivered to retailers.

Issue resolved!   Lionel contacted me with the part # for the LC+2.0 Southern engine!    Now to get someone to order it for me!

Tsk.  Tsk.  Too bad.  You should have read more broadly when you were a kid.

Didn't care much for Spy vs. Spy.

But, I always looked forward to anything illustrated by the great Mort Drucker::

what the heck is spy vs spy

It's a regular comic feature in MAD Magazine (since 1961).

A brief tutorial: here.

I knew I remembered seeing some animated shorts of these guys, was probably the Mad TV reference from the mid 90's on the Wikipedia page.

Back to topic, I ended up formalizing my order for pretty much what I suggested I might earlier in the thread.  Decided to go with the LIRR bicentennial custom run C-420 from Nassau Hobby.

I ordered the WWII commemorative cars--"kiss the war goodbye," "Liberty ships," and "M4 Sherman tanks." Also ordered the "war bonds trolley." That makes it everything on page 138.

I see many ordered Hudsons. I thought about it, but I prefer the J1 class. I'll wait until Lionel does a Legacy Dreyfuss Hudson in 1938 livery to get a J3 class.

Never really saw spy vs spybut thank you for letting me know.  The only mag pie type birds I remember were Heckel and Jekel, very funny.
