These look interesting to me, especially if priced right (ie as a bit of a discount). I know they're put together for their modules initiative, but I think they'd stand well on their own for developing part of a layout. What do you think? http://lionelllc.wordpress.com...t-accessory-bundles/

If Lionel is heavily discounting the bundles, then its a nice idea.
Otherwise, I think bundles stifle creativity.
I think that the pictures are a bit deceptive. In the "Tis The Season" pack they list the components but they picture a building that doesn't seem to be included. They also do something similar in the "All Aboard" pack. I doubt if the buildings in the background are included (especially for a price of $64.99) but one of the items listed is a "City Accessory Pack". Someone who didn't know any better could easily assume that meant the buildings were included.
I do find the dioramas nice to look at. They did a nice job with them. Do they motivate me to buy the parts and build a single module? No.
What do you think of Lionel's Accessory Bundles? Well to start with the illustration is very deceptive. For us seasoned guys we know what to expect but for the beginner not so. Would I buy any? NO!
However, I have a full layout, space is limited, and nothing is a scale scene. Now if they did what Walthers did with the industrial steel industries and they were newly tooled offerings, then I would bite!
Seems like some marketing guy trying to justify their existance...
Not really helpful or a deal.
