Well, at around 15:10 in the video below you'll get to see what such a massive delivery looks like. The latter half of this uninterrupted run-by also shows them marching across a diamond at the Effingham, IL Amtrak station.

Hmm...I  wonder how many CN jennies Menards has in stock

(don't answer that...it's the real trains forum...)

Don’t know what Menards might have, but if there’s nothing you like in the 3D forum file here, Thingiverse has a ton of files. Filament is cheap now. The biggest problem is how long you’d need to orint that many!

I was kidding about that -- this is the wrong sub-forum to discuss models.

(and besides, I got 75 of the little buggers already)

When CN bought the Missabe, DMIR had many ore cars reaching their 75-year time limit. In recent years CN has been buying new ore cars.

According to the Winter 2023 issue of  "The Junction", the magazine of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum (a.k.a. "The Depot" in Duluth), "CN has started to take delivery of new ore cars in the 8000-series built by Freight Car America at their Mexico plant."

I believe the cars in the video are some of these newly-built cars on their way north from the builder to Minnesota's Iron Range.

Greenbrier Companies, in Oregon, the makers of Maxi & Husky, intermodal freight cars, also offers these Taconite / Iron Ore hoppers.

Their brochure specifies the Gross Rail Load as 220,000 lbs which seems lighter than the 286,000 lbs, that is common among modern hopper cars. I wonder if the rail infrastructure in Northern Minnesota, that these cars run on, are rated for lower axle weights or if this lower Gross Rail Load is due to the short wheelbase of the car itself that requires a lower rating to not exceed bridge loading limits.

These are just my opinion,
