I have on order two of these at my local Lionel shop. Any idea when item # 6-83688 Trackside details set will release?
It includes battery boxes, greasers, hot box detector, etc.

I am interested to see these items. I want to compare them to Forum Sponsor scale city designs Keil-Line ones.
I hope they didn't cancel them! I would like to pick them up too!
I'm waiting for that set too. It looked like a great way to add all kinds of different detail.
Odd that a simple set of plastic details gets lost in ages of production delays.
I didn't pre-order any (not sure why?), but I would certainly buy at least a couple of sets when available.
IMO, these are the things that folks would buy while just looking around in their LHS. First time train set buyers looking for something to add to their new sets, kid's birthdays, father's day, mother's day, etc. This is one item (among many others) that should be available all the time, again IMO.
I also ordered them - totally forgot until i saw this. Would still like to get them.
That is one of those things I had wanted for my layout as well.
Could be done pretty easily -- based on the pics at the top -- with tinkercad and shapeways to print. But, in the end you'd spend quite a few hours getting them right and the printed prices would be higher than that probably offered by Lionel. But given a little time and effort, you'd have them.
We have several styles of battery boxes. The nice part they are hollow inside so you can hide a track detectors ir light for signals etc... We do have a flange lubricator and dragging detector as well. They are finely detailed parts, but they mount right in the center of the track since they were designed for 2 rail. We usually try to make more detailed items than those as you can see by our battery vaults, but if there is an interest we could make something similiar in price and quality. Last picture is our flange lubricator again for 2 rail.
Yes!!! That "flange lubricator is "da Bomb!" esp on Atlas O track!
NOw if you can resurrect the former Keil line Track Defect Detector, that would be awesome... along with the rear F unit Lifting lug set!
On the water. Should be here in a few weeks.
These long supply chains... seems like they could be shortened by going to mexico.
They are nice looking! I'm sure to get a set or 2.

Those are available now. Dragging detector is 48-201 and lifting lugs are 48-55. They will be on our new site which is launching very soon with detailed pictures. Until then just drop me an email and we can get them out the door to you. All of our products are made in the great USA. It can be done, don't let anyone tell you that it can't be done.
Aw shucks, I was really hoping this would get the full blown and now past tiresome discussion of the flaws in the BTO system and how the importers are blah, blah, blah... Always a next time.

Nice to know about your battery boxes, etc. I may get some of yours while I await Lionel. The hotbox detector in the Lionel pack was a draw for me.

They arrived last week. I saw them before I left for York.
FWIW, my LHS just called to tell me the trackside accessory set is in the store and come by when I can to get it (and several other boxes I have sitting there......).
My local store has them in now too.
saw them today
Anybody have pictures of them?
Can anyone tell me which is which in this set?
Relay Cabinet- I assume
? Modern Flange Lubricator?
Relay Cabinet - I assume
?
Battery Box- I assume
?Another View of Flange Lubricator?
funny, I thought the flange lubricator was some kind of solar powered device. Maybe an AC unit ? Good question....
