What is the oldest proto 2 MTH premier or RK engine you still run on your layout?

I have a Premier GP38 from 1997 I believe. Bought it used at a train show, it runs flawlessly and all the sounds features work- without a battery...!

I have an MTH Premier PRR G5s 4-6-0 steam locomotive #5740 with PS1 - bought new. It was the first run of the G5s made by MTH around 2000. I installed a BCR many years ago. Has not required anything aside from traction tires and lubrication. Never run smoke. A great model with beautiful whistle and steam sounds.

Also have a early PS2 Dash 9, and PRR 2500 transfer diesel

Mine would be when my father ordered the pennsy Q2 and the csx ac6000, i believe both in the 2000 premier line catalog. both still ticking. The ac60 needed new shell mounts years ago, and i love when you shut it down, the engine would say "see you next shift!". Never heard that on any other model since then. As for the Q2, the engine is a real bulldog. I ran it on a model museum layout running alot and pulling nearly a hundred cars. since then i rebuilt it, (there was dirty oil everywhere on it to box it up) i believe that the q2 is the best smoker im the mth lineup. It travels to various layouts now and then to test the curves, its so big and rigid, "if theres a kink in the curve, it will find it!" Love those models. 

RK Pennsy M!a 4-8-2. Ran in conventionally exclusively when it came out in 2000. When the remote commander came out I switched to that and ran fine, no problems, still smokes like a chimney.

I have quite a few early MTH locos. All the PS-1 locos had BCR's installed at their 5 year mark. No failures on any of the MTH locos. Here are a few examples.

Not sure this counts but its a Premier NYC ESE from 1995 upgraded to PS2 about ten years ago.

Since the topic is specific to PS2.0 engines and not just any MTH engine; I will confess to "crossing the Rubicon" after the rest of you had already reached the other side. 

My oldest PS2.0 is a C&O ABA F3 set from 2008.  I was impressed enough with that first MTH engine that I have purchased far more MTH engines than any other model since.

While not Proto-2 I still run my 20-3025 Cab Forward on occasion from 1998 at the club when I want to run an 11 car 21" Daylight set up the grades all day.  Picked it up at auction for $250 and it pulls like a beast. 

Earliest Proto-2 MTH?  Good question.  I honestly don't know. I know my newest - VIA Rail Canada F40PHs in Proto3 from 2016 to pull my GGD Canadian.  Last MTH purchase I made.   

I occasionally run my MTH Dash 8 diesels from their first 1993 run. The horns squeak , no sounds, but they can pull a house. My first Protosound 1 diesel is a B&O GP-9 with the best horn sound I have to date.

Got rid of all my other Proto 1 diesels and lost count of the Proto 2 diesels.

A Premier Pacific from 2007.

A dozen or more original ProtoSound engines in storage that hopefully the batteries are still intact.  

Believe it or not, CR 6214 is actually from the very first run of diesels that Mike ever made! Yes, the unit has been heavily modified and the paint scheme changed. It did start out as CR.

I have an MTH Premier New Haven Alco DL-109 diesel and a Long Island Railroad G5s, both with PS2, bought new when they were first offered in the early 2000s. Both have BCRs, have been run frequently, and have required only traction tires and lube.

My oldest Proto 2 is a Pennsy DD1 that I bought new back in 2003 but may have older Proto 2 engines that I bought used in ebay. I have quite a few Proto 1 also.

I have a yellow belly Hudson from about 10 years ago.  It is a beauty and smokes like crazy.

Still running my 2001 Consolidation R-T-R set (30-4050-1). Also run a John Deere F3 from 2002 regularly. The WiFi App breathed some new life into running these old engines.

I have an MTH Premier Alaska SD70M 20-2290-1 from 2001.  I purchased it used around 2013 with a dead 5v. board.  I shipped the board to GGG.  He repaired it and it has been running fine since.  I recently replaced the 8.4v. with a homemade BCR.

My first would be the Xmas tinplate set with 384E and PS2. My guess is it is 12-15 years old.

I have a die cast WARR General 30-1120 and a rail king Big Boy 30-1129 that still run and I've never had an issue with either, well one, they smoke out my train room. 

3 P1 still going strong, Susquehanna FP45 #3636, Amtrak Genesis phase 3 #9, and and Amtrak F40PH.  My only P2 loco a Chessie GP30 still runs fine. 

P3 Turbotrains All DEAD.  Many other P3 working fine.

About 5 other P1 units were sold off or turned into nonpowered units.
