Photoshop fakery!
I love it! It should be made by somebody because it's really cool!
Ha ha. I got fooled.
It's an S-2 squared. In 1952, after the dismal failure of the S-2 Turbine, the Pennsy opted to try again. This time they shopped a 6-8-8-6 turbine. Unfortunately on its trial run it exploded, destroying most of Altoona.
Psych.

The doctored photo reflects a 6-6-6-6 dual turbine. No wonder the 6-8-8-6 turbine exploded.
My only question is why the photoshopper took the time to put those two Oreck vacuum cleaners above the drive rods.

They were on sale on QVC. And actually it was the two vacuum cleaners that made the 6-8-8-6, er 6-6-6-6, explode.
